DESCRIPTION:The Circular Jazz Trio:\nDan Blake\, saxes\nBryan Copeland\, bass\nBob Meyer\, drums & cymbals\nPlaying music of members of the band\, jazz standards\, and the music of Bert Wilson. \n \n  \nDrummer Bob Meyer has performed and/or recorded with Joe Lovano\, John Abercrombie\, Ed Schuller\, Ken Werner\, Nina Sheldon\, Judi Silvano\, Perry Robinson\, Glenn Moore\, Cameron Brown\, Andy Statman\, Sheila Jordan\, Ray Nance\, Art Davis\, Jaki Byard\, Paul McCanless\, Julian Priester\, Gary Peacock\, Peggy Stern\, Bert Wilson\, Diane Schurr\, Stanley Cowell\, Mal Waldron\, David Friesen\, Jim Pepper\, Red Rodney\, Itzhak Perlman\, Arnie Lawrence\, James Moody\, Kirk Leitsey\, Avishai Cohen\, Wayne Horvitz\, Drew Gress\, Rob Scheps\, Mike Bisio\, Don Friedman\, James Emery\, Tony Malaby\, Essiet Essiet\, Santi Debriano\, Vic Juris\, Harvey Wainapel\, Peter Barshay and Mel Martin\, Eric Person\, Travis Sullivan among many others. \nDan Blake \nBut for the Hudson Valley-based artist\, whose ridiculously wide-ranging career has included significant work with great artists as different as avant guru Anthony Braxton and Grammy-winning jazz-pop star Esperanza Spalding\, there are compelling reasons to also go in other directions. \nThe Boston Globe has said Blake “regards tradition as a welcoming playground best approached with a sense of wonder and adventure.” A frequent collaborator in this playground is the protean Argentine pianist Leo Genovese\, whose recording Seeds (Palmetto) features Blake\, who the New York Times called a “virtuoso.” \nBryan Copeland \nBorn in Abilene\, TX.\,bassist/composer/ bandleader Bryan Copeland spent the early part of his life growing up in the fertile farm lands of the north Texas panhandle. He lived his more formative years in Dallas and Austin\, TX.\, surrounded by blues\, folk\, and country music. Currently\, he resides in New York\, where he uses his country roots\, along with jazz and classical training\, to influence his unique compositional styling.\nHe has toured and performed with several artist that include Joe Lovano\, Roy Hargrove\, Matt Wilson\, Ingrid Jensen\, Camila Meza\, Tim Warfield\, Marcus Belgrave\, Aaron Parks\, Fabian Almazan\, Jon Cowherd\, Dayna Stephens\, Rudy Royston\, Kenny Wollesen\, Jamire Williams\, Marcus Printup\, Frank Locrasto\, Donald Edwards\, J.J.
