DESCRIPTION:Matt Finck – guitar \nJay Anderson – bass \nTony Jefferson – drums \nMatt Finck has performed and recorded with such fine artists as Steve Wilson\, Dennis Mackrel\, Randy Brecker\, John Medeski\, Heather Masse and Roswell Rudd\, Hudson Valley Philharmonic with Ronan Tynan and Chris Barron (of the Spindoctors)\, as well as backing up such popular singers as Nell Carter and Tony Martin. He also freelances in a variety of settings including blues\, rock and funk\, leading his own funk band Fat Mink since 2005\, and composes and performs music for video games. \nBassist/composer Jay Anderson is among the most versatile and respected jazz artists performing today. He has performed/recorded with a wide range of jazz artists including Woody Herman\, Carmen McRae\, Michael Brecker\, Paul Bley\, Bob Mintzer\, John Abercrombie\, Dave Liebman\, Joe Sample\, Maria Schneider\, Stanley Cowell\, John Scofield\, Lee Konitz\, Vic Juris\, Red Rodney\, Ira Sullivan\, Mike Stern\, Anat Cohen\, Toots Thielemans\, Kenny Wheeler\, Jay Clayton and non-jazz artists like Oswaldo Golijov\, Dawn Upshaw\, The Australian Chamber Orchestra\, Robert Spano (Atlanta Symphony)\, Michael Franks\, David Bowie\, Frank Zappa\, Tom Waits\, Terre Roche\, Chaka Khan\, Michel Legrand\, Allen Ginsberg\, and Celine Dion. He has been featured on over 400 recordings\, seven of which have received the Grammy Award. His original recordings  “NEXT EXIT” (DMP)\,  “LOCAL COLOR” (DMP)\, and “DEEPSCAPE” (Steeplechase) have received critical acclaim both in the U.S. and abroad. Jay has conducted clinics around the world and is a Professor of Jazz Bass Studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and New Jersey City University. \nTony Jefferson\, a New York native\, attended the Berklee College of Music on scholarship in 1984 and placed third in the Thelonious Monk International Drum Competition in 1992. Tony has performed and recorded with many jazz artists including: Kenny Drew Jr.\, Lonnie Smith\, Lou Donaldson\, Frank Wess\, Eddie Harris\, Don Friedman\, Cyrus Chestnut\, Mark Whitfield\, Jerry Bergonzi\, Joey Calderazzo\, Freddy Cole\, Hank Jones\, Benny Golson\, Cedar Walton\,\nNancy King\, Ernestine Anderson\, Annie Ross and the Westchester Jazz Orchestra. \nAfter 20 years as a world class drummer on the jazz scene\, Tony Jefferson has segued into the world of singing. His diverse experience as a drummer and his passion for woodwinds led him to explore musical realms that inform his approach to singing. \nSome of Tony’s recent vocal performances have been: The Kitano Hotel in New York City\, The Princeton Jazz Festival in New Jersey\, Storm King Art Center\, NY\, The Dobbs Ferry SummerMusic Festival\, NY and the Hopper House in Nyack\, NY. Tony has stepped out from behind the drums to sing as a guest vocalist at the Iridium and the Blue Note Jazz clubs in Manhattan.
