Nelson Riveros is a New York City/International Jazz guitarist, composer and vocalist with an earned Masters Degree in Jazz Performance from the New Jersey City University, NJCU. He is part of an emerging force of a new generation of Contemporary Latin-Jazz artists. His latest hit recording ‘The Latin Side of Wes Montgomery” on ZOHO Music has spent 20 weeks on JazzWeek reaching to #2 for two weeks and 8 weeks in the Top 10. Nelson took several of the guitarists’ compositions and arranged them in different Latin and Caribbean rhythms creating a new fresh sound on Wes’ music.

His debut recording titled ‘Camino Al Barrio’ peaked at #8 on the Jazz Week World Music Chart. He was nominated among his peers as ‘Next Best Generation Artist’ and ‘Best Latin Jazz Guitar’ for the 2010 Latin Jazz Corner Best of The Year Awards.

Bassist/composer Jay Anderson is among the most versatile and respected jazz artists performing today. He has performed/recorded with a wide range of jazz artists including Woody Herman, Carmen McRae, Michael Brecker, Paul Bley, Bob Mintzer, John Abercrombie, Dave Liebman, Joe Sample, Maria Schneider, Stanley Cowell, John Scofield, Lee Konitz, Vic Juris, Red Rodney, Ira Sullivan, Mike Stern, Anat Cohen, Toots Thielemans, Kenny Wheeler, Jay Clayton and non-jazz artists like Oswaldo Golijov, Dawn Upshaw, The Australian Chamber Orchestra, Robert Spano (Atlanta Symphony), Michael Franks, David Bowie, Frank Zappa, Tom Waits, Terre Roche, Chaka Khan, Michel Legrand, Allen Ginsberg, and Celine Dion. He has been featured on over 400 recordings, seven of which have received the Grammy Award. His original recordings  “NEXT EXIT” (DMP),  “LOCAL COLOR” (DMP), and “DEEPSCAPE” (Steeplechase) have received critical acclaim both in the U.S. and abroad. Jay has conducted clinics around the world and is a Professor of Jazz Bass Studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and New Jersey City University.

 

Tony Jefferson, a New York native, is an accomplished drummer and has been a fixture on the New York jazz scene for many years. He has toured around the globe playing both festivals and clubs with world class musicians.
Tony has performed and recorded with many jazz artists and groups including: Eddie Harris, Kenny Drew Jr., Lonnie Smith, Eddie Henderson, Lou Donaldson, Frank Wess, Don Friedman, Cyrus Chestnut, Mark Whitfield, Jerry Bergonzi, Joey Calderazzo, Freddy Cole, Hank Jones, Benny Golson, Cedar Walton, Vic Juris, Steve Slagle, Charles McPherson, Gary Smulyan, John Abercrombie, Marc Copland, Kevin Hayes, Rick Margitza, Cameron Brown (Danny’s Calypso and The Here & Now), Paul Beaudry and Pathways (Jazz Ambassadors Tour for Jazz at Lincoln Center), Don Byron (Ivey Divey Trio), James Weidman, Harvie S, Sheila Jordan, Nancy King, Ernestine Anderson, Annie Ross and the Westchester Jazz Orchestra.
Although specializing in jazz, Tony Jefferson is a versatile musician who’s inventive playing is influenced by his diverse musical experiences. Tony’s passion for woodwinds and his melodic approach on the drums has lead him to doing singing gigs in recent years.
